DUNLOP

I'm still wading my way through the murky water of this whole professional boundaries business, but I'm pretty sure popping a boner while watching Robbie deliver a presentation to staff in the Cairns office is a no-no.

I'm standing in a corner at the back of the room, observing Robbie as he goes through his meticulously planned presentation. The slide deck he developed with the internal comms team is impressive, spelling things out clearly so that everyone can clearly understand that we're initiating a wellness initiative for their benefit, and that it's an opt-in model, not something they're forced to participate in. Judging by the head nods and smiles I see on everyone's faces, Robbie's doing a terrific job of getting the message across.

I'm beaming with pride, happy that the hard work he's put into this is paying off. He's personable. Engaging. And while his corporate fashion choices remain questionable—there's a reason the world's moved on from the power look of the nineties—he's at least got his suits tailored so they fit better on him.

My interest in him is growing the more time I spend with him. For our flight up here, I made a strategic decision, asking him if he'd like to watch what I suspected was his favorite movie.

Well, 'B's' favorite movie.

If I was on the fence about whether Robbie is that guy, any doubts I had dissipated when I saw Robbie's reaction to my suggestion. It's him. It has to be. The coincidences are piling up, and the Gold Coast isn't that big a city.

Which leaves me in a precarious situation. I don't want to rush ahead and ask him outright if 'he's the guy from ALGRL.' Not because it's against their rules since I literally give zero shits about that. But because I know that if Robbie is on ALGRL, his reasons are a lot more pure than mine.

I started doing it to get my brothers off my back and was maybe, like, five percent curious about what would come of it. Meanwhile Robbie is one hundred percent doing it for the right reason—to find love.

That…complicates things and means I need to reassess the situation. I have to proceed delicately here.

Love, just like business, comes down to timing. Knowing when to make a move, as well as when to hold back.

I'm enjoying our flirty banter and letting our bodies get to know each other better, but that's not what Robbie ultimately wants. He's looking for his Mr. Forever. A guy he can settle down with.

A boyfriend. A husband. Maybe even a co-parent someday.

I can't give him any of that.

Can I?

I honestly don't have an answer to that right now. This is the last thing I expected. While my attraction to Robbie was instant and remains off the charts, a serious, long-term relationship is another kettle of fish entirely.

I've also got the added complication of the development deal we're making on the facility where Robbie's grandfather lives to factor in.

Robbie asked me to look into it before I realized it was my family that were the developers making a bid on it.
